Abstract (AB):
This March 2002 report from the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy contains legislative and administrative recommendations to help ensure that public policy will maximize the potential benefits of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Specifically, the report addresses the coordination of research to increase knowledge about CAM products; the education and training of health care practitioners in CAM; and the provision of reliable and useful information about CAM practices and products to health care professionals. Guidance regarding appropriate access to and delivery of CAM is also provided. The report includes letters of transmittal, acknowledgements, a listing of Commission members, the Chairman's Vision Statement, an executive summary, and 10 chapters.
