This Federal Trade Commission (FTC) consumer alert, produced in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), provides tips about buying products online from sellers who claim that their products will protect people from biological threats. The alert discusses the importance of talking to a healthcare provider, knowing that some Web sites may sell ineffective drugs, and knowing who the seller is. It includes contact information and a brief description of the FDA, CDC, and FTC.
