Abstract (AB):
This notice reports on the Food and Drug Administration's warning to consumers to stop taking the dietary supplement/herbal product PC SPES and SPES because they contain undeclared prescription drug ingredients that could cause serious health effects. The notice also reports that PC SPES is being studied in four research studies supported by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and one clinical study on PC SPES is on hold pending further quality control reviews.
